Maya Golyshkina is a 19-year-old photographer, sculptor, and a generally eccentric creative from Moscow, Russia. Self-described as cheerful, bubbly, and intelligent, the young artist has built a personal brand centered on her surreal and playful creations.

Maya wildly fuses these personality traits into her work, fashioning an almost satirical display of craftsmanship. Whether it be a ballgown dress made from the pages of a book, or a square-neck top and accompanying skirt made from potato chip bags, her use of found objects (timely in our current ecological crisis) has attracted the attention of many social media observers, including Marc Jacobs. In a three-post ad, Golyshkina showcased the latest bags by the New York designer while wearing a dress made from toilet paper dyed and warped to look like roses, among other curious concoctions.

There is no telling where this multifaceted character is headed. Having acquired an audience at such a young age while making stuff, well, made from other stuff, Maya is on the verge of creative success and acclaim that artists work towards their whole lives. The sky's the limit for her, where she might even make a skirt from the clouds themselves.

Le ciel est sa limite, et elle pourrait même fabriquer une jupe à partir des nuages eux-mêmes.
