“As a black woman, it’s important to me that I am creating art that is in my likeness because we deserve representation in all facets of life. I grew up in a home with images that looked like me and my family — from figurines of black ballerinas, images of Marcus Garvey + my Mother’s birthplace of Jamaica, a black last supper. The list honestly goes on, so it’s important to me that I carry that on in my work for both myself and my culture. Representation matters.

I work in both digital and traditional mediums although ink and watercolor are my absolute favorites.“
